Causes of Eczema and Eczema Symptoms

Eczema causes and problems are fairly common skin conditions. Currently, there are no know cures for eczema however, natural old home remedies for eczema have been found to be effective in treating the condition. Symptoms of eczema include redness, dryness, itchnness, blisters, inflammation, and scaly or flaky skin. These symptoms can cover small areas or large areas of the body; they can also present as mile or moderate or extreme.

The causes of eczema are unknown however there are certain events that trigger eczema symptoms. These triggers include certain foods; allergic reactions not just to foods but also to metals and chemicals; hay fever; asthma; poor management of stress; bad circulation; other infections; sweating excessively; and more (particularly environmental conditions). Your medical history also plays a role in your predisposition for eczema as there seems to be a genetic relationship amongst families. Eczema skin conditions have been a problem for some time; natural old home remedies for eczema have been tried, and proven, over time to provide relief to sufferers.

What are the different types of eczema? They include: Dyshidrotic dermatitis - inflamed and irritated skin on the hands or feet; Contact dermatitis - a more temporary condition related to allergies; Stasis dermatitis - found on the lower legs as dry, itchy and inflamed skin, this is related to bad circulation; Seborrheic dermatitis (also known as dandruff) is a scalp condition - the scalp is dry, itchy, flaky and the condition will spread if scratched; Nummular dermatitis is found in older adults, and demonstrates round, circular patches of irritated and inflamed skin; Atopic dermatitis is a chronic eczema that is believed to be an inherited or genetic condition that runs in families. People with this form of eczema often also have hay fever or asthma; and Heurodermatitis is a skin condition related to stress, this eczema demonstrates itchy, dry skin.

Eczema is not contagious; it cannot spread through touch. However since the causes of eczema have not been conclusively determined, researchers have not yet found a cure. The reality is that there appear to be a number of triggers for eczema, just as there are a number of Eczema Natural Remedies and Treatments for eczema.

The commercial treatments available for those suffering with eczema include antibiotics, steroid creams and lotions, and UV radiation. These treatments do have side effects, some of which are potentially serious (particularly if used over long periods of time).

The alternative to commercial treatments is to use natural old home remedies for eczema. Focus on cleaning, drying and soothing the skin. Use cool water to wash the area affected with eczema (hot water aggravates the skin condition). You can also use white vinegar soaks or salt soaks for cleaning, then dry your skin thoroughly. Make sure to dry the skin thoroughly and apply a no-alcohol, no-water moisturizer. Use some of these home health remedies for moisturizing and soothing eczema conditions after washing and drying: olive oil (works well if lightly applied on a cotton ball); aloe vera " use the gel directly from the leaf of the plant; evening primrose oil, lavender oil, and a plantain mixture.

What are your eczema triggers? Take preventative measures; if you can control your exposure to what triggers your eczema, you will find your eczema occurrences are minimized. Are your allergies the eczema triggers? Are you allergic to grass? Do you have hay fever? Do you react to contact with metal, in particular to nickel? Nickel has been found to be a common allergen among eczema sufferers (nickel is found in computer components). Do members of your family have eczema? Is there a genetic relationship? Does your eczema flare-up more when you are under stress? Find ways to manage your stress and avoid allergens; and as soon as your eczema symptoms start, try to contain and minimize the area. The smaller the area, the more quickly old home remedies will work.

Acai Found to Kill Cancer Cells

A study recently conducted at the University of Florida in Gainesville on the properties of an extract of the acai berry produced some surprising results. When exposed to acai berry extract, cancer cells died. These were cancer cells which have proven to be resistant to other treatments. This was the first of many studies planned on the properties of the acai berry in cases of cancer.

In this test, leukaemia cells were exposed to acai berry extract, with the surprising result that 86% of the cancer cells self-destructed. Acai berries were already known as one of the best sources of antioxidant compounds, but this study's findings are truly extraordinary. An assistant professor at the University of Florida (in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Services) was able to confirm for us that this figure of 86% was indeed the case.

There are other fruits that have antioxidants that may be able to kill leukaemia cells. However, all research is preliminary because there have to be other influences factored in the process. Still the percentages are quite impressive.

In Australia, the acai berry has swiftly grown in popularity, as have diets rich in this fruit, noni, goji and mangosteen. One sees a lot of promotions for juices and other products made from these fruits. These fruits, not coincidentally have also been shown to be high in antioxidant content.

A study in Brisbane, Australia in March of 2008 has focused on the differences between the juice type antioxidants and the olive leaves antioxidants. While the results found in the olive leaf have very promising results when it comes to containing antioxidants, the studies with the acai berry are far more conclusive.

The most exciting of these studies on fruits are those which have focused on their effects on various forms of cancers, particularly leukaemia. Researchers both in the U.S. and in Australia have been working towards a cure for some time for this lethal cancer which is the largest killer of those aged under 20 in the world.

Because only basic research has been done up to a certain point, more studies are warranted. The acai berries have anywhere from 50 to 75 compounds that have not been established yet. The main reason the berries are so hard to study is that they are very perishable.

Roughly the same size as a blueberry, the acai berry ripens to a dark purple and contains a seed. These berries if not used or frozen quickly after picking, begin to decompose. This berry is from the Amazon basin, so freezing or using it immediately is not always an easy thing to accomplish.

For importation to Australia, acai powder is the best alternative. This powder is produced by dehydrating and freeze drying acai pulp. This powder is far easier and cheaper to export, yet gives all of the health benefits of the fresh berries. This powder is used to make various nutritional supplements and as an ingredient in various foods.

The research is still very much in its infancy, but the hope is there that someday leukaemia will meet its match in the form of a cure. Leukaemia is a disease which strikes more children than adults - and this is spurring the world to search especially hard for a cure to this form of cancer.

About the author: Americo Tognetti is amazed by the acai berry because it supplies such a boost to everyone in the Acai Fruit Powder.

Most cysts form as a because of the ovulation process that a woman goes through on a monthly basis and tend to vary in sizes ranging from the size of a pea to the size of a grapefruit.

Dairy and Dairy Products: Designed For Cows and Humans

We have all been brainwashed into believing that dairy produce is healthy food for humans. If the truth is to be told it is not.

What is the number one step in the best ovarian cysts treatment? Elimination of dairy and diary products especially milk contains insulin growth factor (IGF, a growth hormone), excessive cow oestrogen and progesterone and so consuming it throws your body's natural hormone levels out of balance.

Cow's milk is packed full of growth hormones that promote cell division and it is designed to nourish calves through their biggest growth years and give them about 300 per cent growth within a year!

The chemical and hormonal structure of milk stimulates growth in calves, it literally sends a message to their cells to grow and when you drink it, it sends a similar message to your cells - Grow.

The problem is if you are a fully grown adult where is all this growth likely to take place? In tumours, cysts and an ever expanding waist line.

So my friend, the first step to obtaining permanent freedom from any growth, cysts, tumours and hormonal imbalances is the elimination of diary and dairy products like milk, cheese, ice-cream etc

Now you have been introduced to the first step in the best ovarian cysts treatment, but there is so many other things you need to be aware of, it is virtually impossible to discuss it all in one article.

There is a great resource, the only one of it's kind, that will teach you a step by step plan to instantly relieve intense pain, shrink your cysts in as little as 2 months, eliminate all your symptoms and become totally cysts free.

Discover 2 Foods To Avoid If You Have Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

by Alison Harris

New research points to the idea that irritable bowel syndrome may be caused by an overgrowth of bad bacteria in the intestines. It seems that some foods favour the spread of these bad bacteria and one way to reduce their population is to identify which foods support their growth.

It important to keep a food and symptoms diary as this is the only way you will be able to track the specific foods that trigger your IBS Symptoms.

The list below shows 2 known foods that definitely trigger IBS symptoms in many people. They are:

1. Gluten: This is a protein that is commonly found in a lot of grains including but not restricted to wheat, oats, rye, spelt, and barley. The first thing you need to do is go on a gluten free diet for about 2 weeks.

This means you have to pay very close attention to the foods you are eating, read food labels and even read the ingredients in over the counter medicines because some of the foods and medications that you least expect may contain gluten.

You should see a significant improvement in your symptoms once you eliminate this protein from your diet.

2. Coffee (especially when combined with sugar): I used to suffer from IBS myself so I have experienced some of the symptoms e.g. gas, bloating, stomach making noises, spastic contractions of the colon, and stomach cramps etc.

I noticed a significant improvement in my symptoms the very next day I stopped drinking coffee.

You see coffee and sugar are both acidic foods and they will increase the acidity of your stomach. If you suffer from IBS, it is important that your stomach is not too acidic. One of the ways to achieve this is to reduce the amount of acidic foods you eat and consume more foods that leave an alkaline residue in your body.

We have talked about two foods you need to avoid if you have IBS, but there many more foods that trigger this ailment.
