HEPA, while it will remove mold spores, will not kill Mold and Mildew. The Oreck doesn't have HEPA and relies solely on electrostatic or the positive and negative charge of some airborne pollutants so is not considered effective in my opinion for allergens. One thing to be wary of is the fact that many air purifier companies overcharge for the replacement HEPA after the initial purchase of the air purifier itself. For a good sized HEPA filter look for replacements in the $30-40 range.

This modified filter uses a HEPA filter that can capture 99.97% of all particles of a 0.1 micron size, but it will also effectively work at a much quieter rate than any other similar filters.
